How many new records?

Pick three random numbers between 0 and 1, one after another. Count a new record whenever a number is larger than all the numbers before it. Count the first number as a record too.

For example, 0.2, 0.8, 0.5 has two records: 0.2 and 0.8. What is the average number of records?
